My New Year’s Resolution is to be more laid back. I can hear you snickering right now. But I started it off pretty well over the holidays.
We left for the mountains at first light (9 am) on December 26, after a wonderful Christmas with a house full of guests and family coming in and out throughout the day, topped by a 20 person dinner at my sister in law’s and then packing up suitcases and loading the car.
When we returned on January 1st, our house was like Pompeii, Christmas perfectly preserved just as we left it, with schrapnel everywhere, looking a little like a wrapping paper bomb went off in the front rooms. I had left it, just like that, all week because I am so easy going.
But my new laidbackness quickly evaporated as I surveyed the scene. Camera instruction booklet near the trash, gift cards mixed in with a stack of boxes, a skateboard ramp in the living room, tools everywhere, items to return mixed in with the keepers.
Ack. I never liked resolutions anyway.
Below are some great thoughts on resolution ideas and inspiration PLUS tips and tools that will help you keep them. Or better yet, here’s a list that I love by Jessica Boscarini about Death to the New Year’s Resolution in 7 Steps (especially ones regarding weight loss and health) and a way to change your mindset.
