A SkinnyScoop member commented: For me it's less about the hours and more about what the job is. I don't know that I've ever worked less than 50-60 hours/week even though I have two children (currently 4 & 7 but I worked through both pregnancies and only took short mat leaves.) If I added up all the hours I currently work (I am the Founder & CEO of SkinnyScoop) it is probably closer to 70-80 hours/week with about 55-60 of that spent in our office & the rest spent burning the midnight oil once the kids are asleep or having meetings in the early morning or weekends. Sure I would love to drop my kids off & pick them up some days. Sure I wouldn't mind being a class parent at some point or coaching one of my kids' teams. However right now I am passionate about what we are doing & I love the work. I try to make the time with my children (in the early am, in the pm & on the weekends or vacations) really count. Working this much isn't for everyone but it works for me & our family.
A SkinnyScoop member commented: All things being equal, I like to support women-run businesses.
A SkinnyScoop member commented: I like that you framed this as "doing your best" because that is what it is all about. I don't think there is some perfect balance, some right path for women when it comes to their careers and parenting. I love my career and I love my children. I do my best on both fronts.
A SkinnyScoop member commented: i agree, there are a lot of get rich quick schemes. steer clear of them! www.SkinnyWrapGirls.com is not anywhere near that. Check it Out. Thats what I did a few months back and Im so glad i did. :)
