• What's the most important feature of the home?

  A SkinnyScoop member commented: I think all of these are important but certainly the starter (or non-starter) when we looked for our last new home was number of bedrooms. It could have a gorgeous master bedroom or kitchen, but without 4-5 bedrooms it wasn't going to work for our family. Plus you can always fix up a master bedroom or kitchen.

At the same time, I look at a house as a very long term investment. We plan to be in our current house for 20 years.

  A SkinnyScoop member commented: I can't say that I am very stylish so we have had hired a professional decorator for most jobs. I do peruse Pottery Barn catalogs and store displays for ideas. I also have some friends with great taste so it's fun to check out their homes. And I am very into some of the HGTV design shows.
