Like those always looking for that diet that will help them lose the last 5 pounds, I’m always on the lookout for something new and cool that will help me stay organized. With our changing needs and the kids changing ages, we are always trying to organize something. Plus I'm a little bit of a hoarder, so these are great for those of you who like to "save things" and don't have enough space to do so. Here are some of my faves.

  • PRODUCT: Cocoon - Grid-It

    (Reposted from Lori Krolik)

Designed to provide endless configurations of objects, digital devices and personal effects, GRID-IT!™ is as versatile as life itself!

Erin says: "I love this for keeping cords and wires from getting tangled when I travel. Also great for holding my kids electronic accessories. The uses are endless!"
  • PRODUCT: Mason Jars

    (Reposted from Eden Godsoe)

Erin says: "I love the look (and functionality) of old fashion mason jars to store just about anything - pasta, craft stuff, art supplies, buttons, coins, you name it!"
    • Eden Godsoe: Mason Jars are the best. You can get them in multiple sizes and wash them if they get grimy. They never go out of production and you can find them anywhere (Amazon is where I get mine) so you don't end up with a mishmash of containers (a pet peeve of mine.) In fact I plan to make a whole list on all the ways to use Mason Jars!
    • Erin: great idea for a list!
  • PRODUCT: The Best & Most Stylish Bag for Portable Projects

    (Reposted from Lori Krolik)

Erin says: "I love the look of this bag as well as it's functionality. Great for carrying information related to work, home projects, or just a cool place to store your portable files."
  • PRODUCT: Pendaflex EasyView File Folders

    (Reposted from Lori Krolik)

Durable, See-Through File Folders for easy storage and retrieval of your documents.

Erin says: "Sometimes your files get buried on your desk and the see-through feature lets you know what is inside even if you can't see the label."
  • PRODUCT: Aluminum Ticket Holder

    (Reposted from Jenny)

Erin says: "A clean, modern way to hang kids' art, calendars, pictures!"
  • PRODUCT: Kolo Photo Boxes

    (Reposted from Lexi)

Erin says: "Pretty colors, sturdy, well-made and perfect sizes for all types of photos and keepsakes."
  • PRODUCT: Timbuk2 Clear Flex Pack

    (Reposted from SkinnyScoop Team)

Loving these packs for travel organization. My favorite is the one that holds all power cords, chargers, USB cords, etc. One side is clear so that you can see everything.

Erin says: "FOR TRAVEL. Now all my travel cords and chargers are in one place. LOVE IT. It looks so organized and nothing gets forgotten. I even printed out a label with my name and phone number on it. Love."
  • PRODUCT: CD/DVD Album Case

    (Reposted from Eden Godsoe)

The Targus CityGear 320 Capacity CD/DVD Case is designed with 320 CD/DVD pockets to accommodate the increasing demand for media storage.

Erin says: "If you still have kids movies on DVD or music on CDs, toss those cases out and move everything to one case. I organize my case by genre (Pixar movies, Scoobydoo DVDs, superhero stuff, etc) but that may be a little overboard of me."
  • PRODUCT: Drawer Organizers

    (Reposted from Lori Krolik)

Erin says: "These are great for any drawer or shelf you want to keep from becoming a junk drawer. They can be used in the bathroom, office, kitchen, and more. Pens, band-aids, hair clips, toothbrushes, paper clips, post-its, and more fit really well in these."
    • GardenGal: Perfect for makeup, brushes, hair ties, etc in the bathroom. In the kitchen it keeps all those occasional use items like: peeler, citrus zester, basting brush, cheese knife, corn-on-the-cob holders, and more organized.
    • Erin: So true, Garden Gal, really fantastic for keeping those little things organized.
  • DIY PRODUCT: Electronics Storage

    (Reposted from Alana Brooks)

Erin says: "Because you go through toilet paper rolls quickly and because your electronics are all tangled. Cheap and DIY."
  • TIP: Store Sheets In Their Own Pillow Cases

    (Reposted from Eden Godsoe)

Erin says: "Love the simplicity and organization of this idea from blogger - http://storageandglee.blogspot.com.' target='_blank'>http://storageandglee.blogspot.com."
  • TIP: Pare Down A Collection

    (Reposted from Lori Krolik)

What’s your biggest clutter culprit? Too many office supplies, coffee mugs galore, or magazines from 10 years ago? Go through your collection and pull out 4-5 items you no longer want or need.

Erin says: "Let your space define how much you can have of certain items. For example, you can only have as many coffee mugs as will fit in one kitchen cabinet or as many magazines as will fit in a standard magazine holder. Once you can't fit anymore items in that space, it's time to get rid of something."
    • Eden Godsoe: I recommend keeping a large container for donations somewhere in your house that you can add to on an ongoing basis. We try to use a "one in, one out" rule. If the kids get a new toy, they pick an older one to give to a needy child; if we get new kitchen things, the old ones go to Goodwill.
  • TIP: A Command Center For Your Home

    (Reposted from Lori Krolik)

Erin says: "Your home will be much less stressful if you have one place to keep the family schedule, shopping lists, phone #'s and other items that everyone in the family needs to access."
  • TIP: Organized Command Center

    (Reposted from Krista)

I love this area! I have seen the photo on several different blogs and couldn’t seem to trace it back to it’s original owner. One of the blogs I came across during my search was Beach and Barn, they share more great ideas for Command...

Erin says: "If only I had a place for this... The command center is so cute (and functional!)"
    • GardenGal: How do you keep a command center from looking messy?
  • TIP: Trick to control closet clutter

    (Reposted from Alana Brooks)

Erin says: "Genius idea. Great way to figure out what you're not wearing so you can bring it to the next clothing swap or give it to your local thrift shop or someone else who will make good use of it."
  • TIP: Empty Your Mind

    (Reposted from Lori Krolik)

Physical clutter can be distracting and frustrating, and your own thoughts can have the same effect.

Erin says: "Think about all the little things that have been “nagging you” or keeping you up at night. Spend 15 minutes jotting down these thoughts and schedule a time to get them done."
  • WEBSITE: Clean Mama Cleaning Routine

    (Reposted from Healthy Hip Mama)

Clean Mama's free printables: daily "to do's" for a tidy home.

Erin says: "Don't make me think! Sometimes, we just want someone to TELL US WHAT TO DO. Clean Mama does just that with a calendar of daily to-do's."
  • APP: Card Star

  • APP: iRewardChart

    (Reposted from Catherine)

Erin says: "Iphone app that allows you to set up rewards charts for your children. Charts can be personalized by child and rewards are tailored to what they want. This has my children making their beds (almost) every day and askiing for more work. Love it!"
  • APP: Lemon App to Digitize Receipts

    (Reposted from Jackie)

    Digitize your receipts with Lemon

Erin says: "Lemon is a free app that allows shoppers to take a picture of their receipts and instantly digitize them. It pulls the numbers from the receipt picture and tracks the shopper's spending for them. Easy to digitize and organize receipts...something that takes up a lot of space in my wallet and at home."
