I love Jennifer Weiner - her books never disappoint! This book was easily my favorite chick-lit read of 2011.

One of my absolute fave chick-list authors, this is a hilarious and quick laid-back read. I read the entire book on a cross country flight!

If You Were Here by Jen Lancaster

Told in the uproariously entertaining voice readers have come to expect from Jen Lancaster, If You Were Here follows Amish-zombie-teen- romance author Mia and her husband Mac.

I loved "Bitter is the New Black" by Jen Lancaster and this was an equally fun read. I love Jen's constantly entertaining voice and snappy anecdotes. A great book!

The Violets of March by Sarah Jio

"Feed the kids before you settle in with journalist Sarah Jio's engrossing first novel, The Violets of March. This mystery-slash-love-story will have you racing to the end--cries of 'Mom, I'm hungry!' be damned." --Redbook

An impressive debut, I loved this book by Sarah Jio. Rightfully deserving of the Library Journal Best Books of 2011 Award, which it won.

The Gap Year by Sarah Bird

“A smart, witty take on one of the classic milestones of parenting . . . Full of insight, acceptance and, above all, love.”—Sharyn Vane, Austin American-Statesman

This book had it all - humor & emotion. Slightly heavier than a few of the other reads on this list, all I could think about was my own experience during this time of my life & my relationship with my mom. Loved this book and definitely recommend.

Summer Rental by Mary Kay Andrews

“Andrews…is at her warm and funny best…[she] simply excels at creating the kind of characters readers can relate to, and she has a fabulous sense of humor to boot.”—Library Journal (starred review)

I actually haven't read this book but added it to my list as it was heralded and discussed by a few of my book loving female friends. I hope to read this one soon!

You Don't Have to Say You Love Me by Sarra Manning

Sarra Manning started her writing career on the music paper, Melody Maker, than spent five years working on the legendary UK teen mag, J17, first as a writer, then as Entertainment Editor. Subsequently she edited teen fashion bible Ellegirl UK and...

Love this book - will definitely re-read. Reminded me a bit of Jennifer Weiner (Jemima J) and Bridget Jones (set in London) but with even more complexities woven in. If you liked either of those books, you'll love this!

Ugly Sister by Jane Fallon

This book got great reviews and is on my Amazon list. Here is one review I really liked: http://leeswammes.wordpress.com/2011/12/13/book-review-the-ugly-sister-by-jane-fallon/
