Eat This, Not That!

I've recently come across some awesome sites that guide you in making a "healthy" choice in those difficult fast food situations. Skip the temptation of ordering a battered, crispy, or high carb meal. Here is your cheat sheet to a successful meal on-the-go that you won't regret.

El Pollo Loco

There are quite a few good options here (if you eat chicken, that is), though there are indeed a handful of pitfalls as well. As with most restaurant fare, keep a close eye on the sodium -- it adds up very quickly.

Go with the chicken thigh, leg or breast meat, it will keep you in the "good zone".

P.F. Chang’s

It's definitely possible to make some healthy & delicious choices at P.F. Chang's, though you'll need to be very careful with portion sizes and sodium.

Of course my favorite dish, Mongolian Beef, is categorized under "Worst Choice" at P.F. Chang's.

The Counter

Custom-design your burger from an overwhelming list of options, with a whopping 312,120+ possible combinations.

Building your own burger can have its benefits because you are in control. Just don't go crazy :)

Chipotle

The biggest problem with Chipotle is the portion sizes. A chicken burrito with beans, rice, cheese, corn salsa, and sour cream can hit 1,030 calories!

You might want to think twice before you get that Chicken burrito!

Starbucks: Drinks

I have a lot and hate relationship with Starbucks! Over the years I have learned how to cut out the bad and order some health-conscious drinks. Yes, I will admit I am a Gold Card Member :)

Jamba Juice

We all love smoothies but people often overlook the calories and sugars in each order. Here are some quick tips to ordering the right drink.

Subway, McDonalds, Wendy's etc

Tasty, convenient, and cheap, there are plenty of reasons fast food is popular. We''ll tell you what to order so the next drive-thru meal you get your hands on won''t wind up on your hips.

Gives you a breakdown of what you SHOULD be ordering.
