Women 2.0 is a fantastic resource. I regularly visit their website to discover interesting posts from (mostly) female entrepreneurs and investors. I have also written a post for Women 2.0 and attended their annual PITCH conference, which was an amazing event.

bodysculpter: I agree, I am a member also and love reading the posts. It seems there is a never-ending list of smart women in this group.

Media Platform: DailyWorth

DailyWorth is a community of women who talk money. We deliver practical tips, empowering ideas, and the occasional kick in the pants...daily to your inbox.

Fantastic website and daily emails that have actionable recommendations. Much of their content is more generally focused on women and money but they have a section dedicated to work and entrepreneurship.

Media Platform: Daily Muse

Smart content, career advice, and community for young professional women, featuring articles on everything from job search to entrepreneurship, from personal finance to workplace style.

The Daily Muse has interesting and insightful articles targeted at career women - from startups to larger companies. I particularly like their 'Lessons to My Younger Self: A Series by Inspiring Women' series.

This is a new discovery for me. The Next Women's website includes articles focused on female entrepreneurs, investors and other leaders. They also host pitch events, networking opportunities and various workshops.

bodysculpter: I haven't heard of this one yet, but definitely deserves a check out.

Membership Networks: 85 Broads

85 Broads is a global network of 30,000 trailblazing women who are inspired, empowered, and connected.

I've been a member of 85 Broads for a few years. They run local events in most major cities but also showcase female leaders across the US and the rest of the world. You need to apply for membership but it appears that you can qualify by being an entrepreneur, working at select big name companies or going to a top school.

Membership Networks: Alley To The Valley

Alley to the Valley is a community of the world’s most influential women in venture, entrepreneurship, business, politics, and media.

While Alley to the Valley doesn't focus exclusively on entrepreneurship, it is a high-powered membership organization that included many female entrepreneurs and VCs. They host summits and other events that enable women to network and bring their businesses to the next level. Membership ranges from $350 to $3,500 annually.

Suggested by Maria Sipka:

Some of the most respected women I know belong to this organization and after attending a brief networking event one evening I met some incredibly inspiring women that I have been meeting on a regular basis. Their line up of events are outstanding!

Membership Networks: Ladies Who Launch

Join the world's largest community of women entrepreneurs.

Ladies Who Launch connects women both online and offline through their website and local events. I have heard a lot about this organization but am not yet a member myself nor have I attended any of their events. I'd love to hear from women who have joined since membership costs $200 to $400/year.

bodysculpter: I am on their group on Linked in, they really do help with your business. THere is a local one that meets here in Atlanta, but I have not had the chance to attend an event.

Membership Networks: Project Eve

Sharp Skirts positions itself apart from other women's networks (as you can tell by their description above.) They are free to join and you can network with other members via their Facebook page (they have about 300 members) or at various online and offline events. If anyone is active in Sharp Skirts, please do share about your experience.

Carla Thompson: Thanks so much for listing us! Just wanted to boast that we have just over 1000 members now. : )

Eden Godsoe: Carla - Congrats on reaching 1000! And welcome to SkinnyScoop. Would be great to have SharpSkirts create some lists of their own so do feel free to create a branded SharpSkirts account to share your expertise.

Membership Networks: Dell Women's Entrepreneur Network

The Dell Women’s Entrepreneur Network (DWEN) event spotlights female entrepreneurial success and creates an atmosphere where women can connect with one another, share best practices, build business opportunities and recognize female influence in business and technology.

I was invited to DWEN though I have yet to attend any of their events - the annual conference or smaller local networking events. I am still trying to figure out how to best leverage this group of talented women

Stephanie Goodell: Hi Eden, We're honored to be here and work with many of the organizations mentioned. We encourage you join the conversation via Twitter (#dwen/@dellbizwomen) and LinkedIN (Women Powering Business). To get more active in the community, you can attend regional DWEN events (which we have in 10 countries and many cities) which are posted on the forum. Our yearly global DWEN event is an intimate, invitation-only gathering. For those interested, email me! stephanie_goodell@dellteam.com

I know many women who have either volunteered at Astia or taken their startup through their accelerator program. Everyone has good things to say about their experience. An accelerator program is not right for every startup (it didn't make sense for SkinnyScoop) so do the research before committing.

Accelerator Programs: Springboard Enterprises

Venture-catalyst Springboard Enterprises is the premier platform where entrepreneurs, investors, and industry experts meet to build great women-led businesses. Springboard educates, sources, coaches, showcases and supports high growth companies seeking equity capital for expansion.

Springboard offers a variety of programs targeted at female entrepreneurs including forums, educational programs and a bi-annual invitation-only conference. It was a post from Joshua Henderson of Springboard that inspired this list.

Accelerator Programs: Women Innovate Mobile

Women Innovate Mobile (WIM) is the first startup accelerator and mentorship-driven program designed for women-founded companies in mobile technology. WIM's goal is to provide women entrepreneurs with the guidance, feedback and connections needed to make their startups best in class companies and formidable business concerns.

I've been seeing a lot in the news lately about WIM. If you are considering a startup focused on mobile, they are worth checking out. They recently announced their first accelerator class - http://womeninnovatemobile.com/news/2012/3/3/presenting-wims-first-accelerator-class.html

Investment Firms: Golden Seeds

Golden Seeds is an investment firm that is dedicated to delivering above market returns through the empowerment of women entrepreneurs and the people who invest in them.

Golden Seeds is a well known investment firm focused on female entrepreneurs. Since 2005, their angel fund has invested $27.5MM in 42 companies (avg $572K.) They also have a two VC funds with $30MM committed to 24 companies (avg $1.3MM.) Investments include gDiapers, Lark and Honestly Now.

Investment Firms: Women's Venture Capital Fund (West Coast US)

We invest in women entrepreneurs. The Fund capitalizes on the intersection of the expanding pipeline of women founders and gender-diverse management teams who are creating capital efficient companies with stiletto high growth rates.

WVCF has a team of 3 powerhouse women - Monica Dodi, Edith Dorsen and Helen MacKenzie - from different backgrounds. They primarily focus on digital media and sustainability along the Western Corridor.

Investment Firms: Belle Capital (Midwest & South)

BELLE Capital is an early stage angel fund focused on building great companies in Michigan and other, underserved geographic regions in the Midwest and South. Companies seeking our capital must have at least one female founder or C-level exec, and/or be willing to recruit top female talent to the C-suite and Board of Directors.

I hadn't heard of Bell Capital but that is likely because they focus on investments in the Midwest and South (I am in the Bay Area.) They require a C-level founder or the willingness to recruit one with funding.
