Here is a list of our youngest daughter's favorite apps for the iPhone and iPad

  • Itsy Bitsy Spider by Duck Duck Moose

    An adorable, highly interactive app that can is colorful and enjoyable for very young users, while still attracting the attention of older siblings as well. The entire app is filled with beautiful illustrations, delightful characters and wonderful cause and effect surprises.

    Mindy Douglas says: "Our daughter has played with this app for over a year and still loves it. Now that she is older, she enjoys it on a whole new level. We have loved every app by this developer so far, but this one is one of our toddler's all time favorites."
  • My PlayHome by Shimon Young

    A wonderfully imaginative iPad dollhouse complete with a family of dolls who can cook in the kitchen, play with blocks in the bedroom, turn on the shower, flush the toilet, bounce on the beds and much more.

    Mindy Douglas says: "The app is incredibly simple to use but fabulously detailed and fun to explore for the whole family. I highly recommend it and so does my toddler."
  • Paint My Wings by Toca Boca

    Paint My Wings is a charming and delightful painting app that is simple enough for very young users. Toddlers will enjoy squashing fruit to make the paint for the wings and interacting with the friendly butterflies while creating beautiful symmetrical masterpieces.

    Mindy Douglas says: "My daughter loves to tickle the butterfly to make her laugh. I love that she is painting in an app and not all over my walls. This is by far the most imaginative coloring app I have ever seen."

    Tilly's petting farm is a beautifully illustrated interactive app that is perfect for toddlers (and babies with assistance) who love animals and learning about the petting farm.

    Mindy Douglas says: "Our daughter loves exploring the pages to learn about the farm. A slider is used to switch pages, which at age 2 1/2 she is now able to use independently. There is also a wonderful question mode which asks the child to locate items on the farm."
  • iBaby Buttons by Software Smoothie

    iBaby Buttons is a simple, colorful cause and effect app for the youngest iPhone and iPad users. It is a perfect beginning app for little ones. Parents can add custom buttons for baby by using photos from the camera or photo library.

    Mindy Douglas says: "Disclaimer: My husband & I developed this app. I included it because after all this time our daughter still enjoys it. It has been a wonderful starter app for her. Now that she is able to use more sophisticated apps, iBaby Buttons remains a favorite."

    Mindy Douglas says: "Our daughter has always liked music apps with keyboards in them. This one is by far one of the cutest. As long as you can handle a little noise, this is a great app for little ones who like to tap out some tunes."

    A beautifully illustrated wooden puzzle game for the iPad that is featured in "New and Noteworthy" and "What's Hot", as well as featured on the iPad in the Apple Retail Store.

    Mindy Douglas says: "I recently purchased this app because I have heard so many wonderful things about it. My daughter seems interested in it, but still needs my help some to complete the puzzles. I love the idea of iPad puzzles- the pieces don't ever get lost!"
