I work hard to ensure that we have balance and perspective. My husband and I ensure that our children and ourselves learn how fortunate we are. For birthdays we give money to a cause instead of presents and also use Echoage.com to help us for birthdays, we also do a clothing drive at the kids school in January and our children drop them off to a homeless shelter. we also sponsor a family at the holidays. Guilt is feeling remorse for something you did or did not do that caused affliction to someone else. I did not cause someone else's poverty. I give to charity and I donate a lot of my time to volunteering. But I am not doing these things to compensate for any guilt I am feeling. I give and volunteer because I want to help.
