I don't think its ever ok to call your child (or others) these kinds of names. I think its ok to perhaps joke around a little about him being afraid but those are not good words to use.

shame, humiliation and most teasing is not ok! Louann Brizendine in her book The Male Brain talks about the importance of certain types of daddy only bonding/language/play and it veers into teasing...but not this kind of teasing!!!!

seems like those are unconstructive names to use. plus, fear is real and calling someone a name (any name) isn't actually going to help matters. everyone is afraid of something, for pete's sake.

The words/names are not supportive, constructive, nor do they help teach your son anything positive. There are ways to support your son to understand appropriate reactions to an injury, but not through shame or sarcasm.
