We have a theater rented out for our son's 6-yr birthday party & can show anything we want. Is it appropriate to show Star Wars?

My 6 yr old loved Star Wars as well as the original Superman. You could go really old school and do the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - clearly I am driving a specific 70's movie agenda with my kids. Oddly my son is not remotely freaked out by villans in these movies but gets pretty spooked by villans in the Iron Man/Batman/Transformer franchises. I can't wait to start the whole Raiders of the Lost Arc series soon!!!
Yes
depends if all of the other kids are the same age- it may be long for that age
No
I'd stick to Pixar on this.
No
If "maybe" were an option, that would be my choice. Some kids get very disturbed by the movie -- the violence, the loud musical score, the obvious good vs. evil struggle and lots of near misses. And that's just Episode 4 -- some of the other episodes are even tougher to take. (We've seen them all, unfortunately, more times than I can count.) So if that's the case, maybe give it a miss and pull out Madagascar instead? Then they can move it, move it, etc.

I've talked to several other moms about this and they said No.

It was the first movie I saw in the theater. I was 5 and I was pretty scared. I think a kids movie would be better.
Yes
Can I come?
No
I would say that at least 4 out of 6 of those films may be kind of intense for kids that age.
Yes
After much thinking (& SkinnyScoop polling) we decided it was appropriate. However now the theater revealed that George Lucas does not allow private viewings of Star Wars. Ugh. Need to find another movie. Not your standard Pixar that all the kids have seen. Something that gets 6 YO boys excited...
