My sons preschool does amazing art pieces that sell for heft prices at school auctions. My favorites are the ones that are set up like art quilts where you can see the work of each child in a separate frame. The school gets them framed beautiful & they truly look like pieces of professional artwork.

For some reason I really got into the "cleaning basket" that our class had to put together. I just sort of bought all the luxury gadgets and things that I had always looked at but never bought at Bed Bath and Beyone. Like I bought a genuine ostrich feather duster, an ergonomic laundry basket that contours to your body as you carry it, stuff like that.
A few great items: 1) A case of wine with parents donating special bottles is always a hit and a popular item at the school auction. 2) One year each child drew a picture of themselves on a small piece of paper and we had them all shadow mounted in a nice simple black frame. It looked great and was a popular auction item. Makes a great piece of art for a kids room. (we put the class photo on the back with all of the kids names for future reference. 3) A basket for a night at home with the kids: Everyone pitched in different items that included, games, art supplies, a catered dinner (dropped off by one of the parents in the class), kids drinks and a nice wine.
