Nothing Freudian but I would say that my husband shares the same core values & general personality traits as my father. I wasn't looking for those per se but it makes sense since I love & respect my father for his strong moral compass, his kindness, his loyalty, his intelligence & so many other things. They couldn't look more different - I was trying to "breed" some height into our family line by mating w/ a man nearly 1 foot taller then me & at least 1/2 ft taller than most men in my family!

Complete and polar opposites. They are both huge hearted and kind but my Dad is this "big" personality, sort of loud and "alpha male - ish" while my husband is less outgoing & a little more reserved. Both of them have an increbile sense of family and loyalty though - so I suppose in the important ways they are more similar than I initially thought.
