Activity o...
It was kind of close between Activity & Dress. I don't buy my son anything super nice clothing-wise since he gets holes in things in seconds (he is an active 5 yr old.) My 3 yr old daughter, on the other hand, loves to wear dresses & is very careful w/ them so I would be inclined to step up to the plate w/ a more expensive dress if she loved it. That being said, I think I spend the most on classes for them - ballet & karate in particular were quite pricey!

Starting next year, travel is going to be our splurge, so we can expose the kids to different places and peoples in a meaningful way. Interesting, educational travel (not just Disneyland, although we like the Magic Kingdom of course).
Shoes
We mostly purchase second hand clothing for the kids but shoes and sports equipment foot wear are the 2 items that are more challenging second hand. I do tend to splurge in these areas and feel Ok about it given that it is limited.
