I get my info from lots of sources though find that I have a short attention span so prefer little snippets rather than reading through a long article in the WSJ or Economist.

Srsly my husband reads several newspapers daily, and I ask him and he tells me. The end. I also listen to NPR radio when car pool, and transporting kiddos to/from after school schtuff.

I'm not sure I would lump the political/economic blogs that I read in with social media sites - but there's some really good analysis being done by bloggers like Nate Silver (538), Marc Ambinder (the Atlantic), Greg Mankiw, and Marginal Revolution, and other sites like Politico, Real Clear Politics, and FactCheck.org are also great resources.
