Condoms
But at my age (40), I really want to investigate other methods. At the same time, I am still not ready to do something "permanent" even though I don't intend to have more children.
Condoms
not thrilled about this method but don't like artificial hormones and don't want to go the permanent procedure route...
Condoms
Not really sure what to do -- I should take the BCP or use the Mirena IUD because I have endometriosis (and these help), but I don't like the side effects. Never had a vaginal birth, so an IUD would not be easy to insert anyway. We may eventually get to the vasectomy stage, but I'm not totally ready to say we're 100% done.
IUD
Mirena is great - in place for 5 years and can stop your period all together, if not periods are really light
IUD
Mirena, I no longer get my period and never have to think about birth control, have not let hubbie get vasectomy as I'm not 100% sure I don't want another kid (#3)!
IUD
I use the Paraguard -- the one without hormones. Ever since my mother was diagnosed with serious breast cancer, which was attributed in part to her hormone replacement therapy, I avoid taking hormones of any kind. They claim that the hormones in the mirena are harmless, but they claimed that about HRT as well. My motto: don't trust medicines prescribed only to women, not men.
Vasectomy
I can't believe that a husband would not do this for his family. It is such a no brainer...non-invasive, safe...OH, and reversible...hello??? It's surprising that the percentage of vasectomy is so low and the use of condoms is so high...really?? What a drag.
Tubes Tied
had c-section so it was easy to tie them while i was already opened up.
Condoms
Tried IUD- not for me - would love my husband to get a vasectomy but Its "not for him".

I had the "essure" procedure. They go in vaginally and implant little coils that occlude your fallopian tubes. Very minimally invasive and painless.
Vasectomy
No more condoms -- Yoo hoo!!!

I tried the pill and never really felt "right." Consequently, we used condoms. Then we tried to get pregnant and couldn't - and I had a hysterectomy. I cannot begin to describe the joy of not having a period - especially near the end when I was bleeding nonstop.

Menopause!

I had the Essure procedure, after having my second child at 41. It was very easy and I was okay with "taking one for the team" if it meant neither of us had to have a more invasive surgical procedure.

I use a Diaphragm now.
