Celine Dion was born on 30 March 1968 to Therese and Adhemar Dion in Charlemagne, Quebec in Montreal. She was given the name Céline Marie Claudette Dion at birth and she comes from a not so rich home that was basically into music. Her mother worked as a homemaker but was a part-time singer. Her dad was a butcher and the couple from French-Canadian descent has 14 children all groomed in the Roman Catholic faith. With an early unwavering interest in music, Celine started performing at the early age of five starting out at her brother’s wedding. She honed her skill with time until she began performing with her siblings in their family’s piano bar.

At age 12, she made her professional debut composing her first song in collaboration with her mother and brother Jacques. Her shine came when one of her brothers sent the song to a music manager Rene Angelil and on hearing her amazing voice, the manager took it upon himself to support her record. After mortgaging his home to raise funds, that very song became a local No. 1 hit and won her instant fame. It was from this moment that her name started an upwards journey of going viral around the world. Around this time also, she won Top Performer as well as the gold medal for Best song. She then learned English and started singing in English rather than just French.

As the English era began, the star won several other awards and this period became the most prolific of her musical career with many award-winning hits to her name most notably Falling Into You, Let’s Talk About Love, Think Twice, the Power of Love, amongst others. In the 2000s, she continued to prove her musical power and as the years went by she cemented the fact that she is a legend considering her achievements.

Over the course of her career, she has been honored with the Record of The Year Award, Album of The Year award and Grammy Awards. Also, she was named Queen of Adult Contemporary for always having the majority of number ones on the radio format for a female artist. She is known as the second best-selling female artist in the United States in 1990 and the best-selling Canadian artist. On top of that, she remains one of the best-selling artists of all time with over 250 million copies sold globally.

With the many records Celine Dion has broken, she has garnered an impressive net worth estimated at £330million. While the bigger part of her income comes from her musical achievements, she is a serious-minded entrepreneur who owns several businesses with her late husband. Some of their investments include an artist management company known as Feeling In which is based in Quebec Canada. She also owns a Nickles restaurant food chain, is the owner of Le Mirage Golf Club and Schwartz’s Resturant. She is part of the ownership of a nightclub named Pure based in Caesars Palace.

In addition, Celine is doing awesome in the beauty industry, she owns a perfume line known as Celine Dion Parfums which has generated about $850 million in retail sales. It didn’t come as a shock when Celine Dion announced her love affair with her former manager Rene Angelil. Just maybe, she didn’t want to bite the finger that fed her or she wanted a man that loves her for real but she and Rene met when she was just 12 and he was 38. They started dating in 1987 when she was 19 and became engaged in 1991. Three years after their engagement they tied the knot in Montreal, Quebec. Nine Years later their love was still going strong and they renewed their vows in Las Vegas in 2000.

The singer had their first son named Rene-Charles Angelil in 2001 after undergoing some minor fertility surgeries alongside IVF procedures due to years of failed attempts to conceive. They gave birth to their fraternal twin boys in 2010 after she received her sixth treatment of in-vitro fertilization. The twin’s names are Eddy and Mandela. They were named after Eddy Marnay and Nelson Mandela respectively. The close-knit family was beginning to grow when sadly death struck the family in the most painful way – Angelil died. His death was as a result of complications of cancer. While still coming to terms with the sudden departure of the love of her life, Dion lost her brother Daniel to cancer two days later.

Since losing her husband, Celine Dion has been keeping things about her love life private. For this reason, there have been rumors of who she is dating. Early 2018, there were reports that the singer was hanging with a much younger hunk. It all started when the Montreal star was photographed at Giambattista Valli’s Paris runway show with a young man named Pepe Munoz. The two were also seen walking around Bordeaux before having dinner together. The young man who is a dancer is allegedly 16 years younger. While the entire story seems so true, it has not been confirmed.
