Her Siblings and Family

The Jill Duggar family lives in Tontitown, Arkansas. Her father, Jim Bob Duggar met her mother Michelle Ruark in the 1980s when he went with a fellow church member on a follow-up visit to Michelle’s house after she underwent a religious conversion. The two then got married on July 21, 1984. At that time, Jim was just 19 years old and Michelle was 17. Upon settling down as a couple, they began their used-car and real estate businesses. Jim was also a Republican member of the Arkansas House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002. He was nominated for the US senatorial seat in 2002 but was defeated by the incumbent Tim Hutchinson.

As devout independent Baptists, the couple raised their children in a highly religious way. The oldest of Duggars twelve children is Joshua who was born in 1988. He was followed by a set of twin Jana and John-David. Others in the same order are Jill, Jessa, Jinger, Joseph, Josiah, Joy-Anna, Jedidiah & Jeremiah (twins), Jason, James, Justin, Jackson, Johannah, Jennifer, Jordyn-Grace and Josie. In all, Michelle gave birth 17 times with two sets of twins, over a period of twenty-one and a half years. They all formed part of the popular reality TV show, 19 Kids and Counting which was formerly 17 Kids and Counting and 18 Kids and Counting.

Despite the moral standards of the family, some of the Duggars kids were victims of sexual assault. In fact, the family reality show was canceled after the Duggars eldest son publicly admitted to the viral reports about him sexually molesting five girls, including his sister. In June 2015, Jill also revealed that she was among the girls her brother molested. Speaking to The Kelly File,  Jill Duggars said he touched her inappropriately at night and she never knew about it until he confessed to their parents. After the show’s cancellation, a spin-off show Counting On was introduced. The show started airing from December 2015 and was on its fourth episode by June 12, 2017.
