Jim Parson picked interest in acting after watching some captivating sitcoms especially Three’s Company, The Cosby Show and Family Ties. There, he started performing in plays and did more than 15 in three years. His originality and spot-on portrayal of characters made him one of the seven students to be admitted into a special two-year course in classical theater, a program taught in partnership with the Old Globe Theater.

Jim’s career started professionally in off-Broadway productions in 1993, and then television appearances followed. In 2011, he made his first Broadway appearance with a role in The Normal Heart. In his performance, he was more than just another actor and that won him a Drama Desk Award nomination.

Is Jim Parsons Married or Gay?

Jim Parsons

If you have been wondering if Jim Parsons is gay, here’s your answer – he is openly gay and is a married man. But that’s not to say that he didn’t keep up a secret romance in the past. In fact, he only came out of the closet in 2012 in a New York Times profile, revealing that he has been in a relationship with the man after his heart for over a decade. In 2014 during an appearance on the Ellen Degeneres show, he made it clear that he was not in a rush to get married. But before this statement, Jim already described their relationship as being weird yet filled with love considering his age.

In 2017, he walked down the aisle with his love of 15 years and as you might expect, the wait was worth it. According to him, they had to take time to marry because they didn’t just care about the act. They were more concerned about what they actually felt for each other. And given that same-sex marriage was only just legalized in the US in 2015, it was only meaningful to wait. Admittedly now, Jim feels a sense of divinity since legalizing the affair. The four-time Emmy winning actor lives in New York City with his partner while also maintaining a home in Los Angeles.
