Amell was born on April 21, 1988, in Toronto Ontario, and was raised alongside his sister by their parents Jo and Rob Amell who deal in custom jewelry. The siblings started their careers in acting and modeling quite early, but Robbie eventually became more passionate about the venture.
His first few stints were on commercials before he nabbed roles in high school plays including playing Picasso at the Lapin Agile and in The Importance of Being Earnest.
