Tiffany Haddish set amazing career goals and has followed it through over the years. Not only has she made waves as a talented actress and comedian who is always delivering performances that get people shaking with laughter; she’s also a New York Times best-selling author whose memoir has proven to standout.
Tiffany came to the limelight in the early 2000s and with her success still blowing up, she understands what it means to sustain fame. Some of her works that have proven this point include Girls Trip (2017), Keanu (2016), and The Carmichael Show (2015).
Age – How Old Is She?
Born as Tiffany Sarac Haddish on December 3, 1979, Tiffany Haddish spent her childhood days in her birthplace, Los Angeles, Califonia, USA. She schooled in George Ellery Hale Middle School in Woodland Hills and furthered in Camino Real High School.
Her Father, Mother, and Siblings
Tiffany’s father, Tsihaye Reda Haddish is from an Ethiopian Jewish family but he migrated to the United States from Eritrea. Her mother Leola was an African-American. She was a businesswoman though she operated a small-scale business.
Growing up, Tiffany didn’t have a glamorous childhood. As a matter of fact, she had a disheartening and unpromising childhood. Her parents parted ways when she was only 3; as such, her mother remarried and had four children. So, Tiffany Hadddish has one full sibling and four half-siblings. Even though her mother remarried, she didn’t find absolute joy in her second marriage. She obviously didn’t anticipate that the marriage would bring her total downfall.
Her second husband meddled with the brake of her car. It led to a fatal accident that left Leola with brain damage. At that time, the family lived in Colton, California, and Tiffany was only nine. The man later opened up to Tiffany during dinner that he did it not to hurt his wife but her and her siblings.
However, they were lucky not to have gone out on that very day. The brain damage led to Leola suffering from schizophrenia, a mental disorder that can lead to strange behavior, speech, and low understanding. Tiffany, as the oldest of her five siblings, became the primary caregiver for her family.
By the time she turned 12, she and her siblings had to live in foster care and were briefly separated at some point. Three years later, they moved to their grandmother’s apartment. While at the foster care, Tiffany used comedy to manage all the pain she went through including dealing with sexual assault by a police cadet when she was 17. After doing several small jobs including working in the Alaska Airlines’ customer service and having to live in her car due to lack of dependable shelter, she debuted her comedy career in 2005. Her first break came when she performed in a comedy competition titled Who’s Got Jokes. But she rose to international stardom after she played in the film Grils Trip.
Now, her days of agony have ended as she has excelled as not just a comedian but also a talented actress. Some of her TV credits include Real Husbands of Hollywood, If Loving You Is Wrong, The Carmichael Show, Girls Trip, Keanu, The Last O.G, among others. She is also known to be the first black woman to host the big show, Saturday Night Live.
Apart from being on the screen, Tiffany is set to handle voice acting. Though she may not have plenty of gigs in this regard, she is to voice two big upcoming projects – the animated comedy series Tuca & Bertie and Lego Movie 2: The Second Part.
Tiffany Haddish may have a very gloomy childhood, but she single-handedly rewrote her destiny. With her huge financial accomplishments – a net worth estimated at $4million, the actress has indeed done well for herself.
Tiffany Haddish Husband
Tiffany used to be married to Willam Stewart. She actually claimed to have married and divorced Stewart twice. While Stewart has discredited the claims, the comedian in her best-selling New York Times memoir detailed how she went through domestic violence in the hands of Stewart that led to her miscarriage.
Stewart dragged her to court for defamation, alleging that she had an abortion and demanding to be paid $1,000,000. While the drama is still on, Tiffany seems to be too busy for romance. There doesn’t seem to be anyone she is dating now – at least none that is known to the public but that doesn’t mean the entertainer has shut down her love life.
