Stetson Played College Football at the University of Georgia

It is no surprise the Atlanta, Georgia native was able to get all these endorsements, seeing that he was prolific in college. Bennett won two College Football Playoff National Championships in 2021 and 2022. His team’s victory in 2021 was their first national title since 1980, and Bennett played a starring role in the game.

He was also pivotal in Georgia’s back-to-back victories. This is evident through his being named the CFP National Championship Offensive MVP in both years. He also won the 2022 Manning Award and Burlsworth Trophy and was named a finalist for the Heisman Trophy.

Bennett may not have been as marketable as he is today if he did not work his socks off. It is reported that coaches thought he was too short and too light when he came out of high school. As a result, not many schools offered him a scholarship. He would later enroll at the University of Georgia, where he was a walk-on on the Bulldogs team in 2017.

Stetson Bennett did not play in the entirety of the 2017 season. The following year, he opted to transfer to Jones College, a community college in Mississippi. This happened after significant competition in the shape of five-star high school quarterback Justin Fields committed to attend Georgia.

Bennett’s one-year stint at Jones boosted his prospects as he received scholarship offers from multiple high-profile college programs. He ended up choosing to return to Georgia to become the second-string quarterback after Fields transferred to Ohio State. Bennett would go on to fight for the starting job, landing the position in 2021 and retaining it until he was drafted in 2023.

He Was Drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in 2023

After having made a name for himself at the University of Georgia, creating and tying various records, including being one of only three quarterbacks to win consecutive NCAA national championships, Bennett enlisted for the 2023 Draft.

Even though it took a while, as he was not picked in the first, second, or third round of the Draft, Bennet was eventually drafted by the Los Angeles Rams in the fourth round with the 128th pick. Nicknamed “The Mailman” because he always delivered, Bennett will have to play backup to Super Bowl winner Matthew Stafford, who is also a Georgia Bulldogs football program alum. He would be looking to make an impression whenever he is called upon to play.
