“Growing up, I was this really awkward-looking kid, and kids used to make fun of me and call me names like horse mouth,” she said. “My mom looked literally perfect, and I definitely looked more like my father. She always was like, ‘I don’t see it. They’re crazy; you’re so beautiful.’ I remember thinking, ‘Oh great, they’re crazy!’ I had this strange confidence because she was so complimentary and supportive. I think it gave me a great sense of humor and a really strong voice because she instilled all this confidence.”
The support and confidence Catherine Reitman’s mom gave to her as a child has clearly helped her in her adult life as she pays no mind to what trolls on the internet have to say about her physical appearance. As a result, she has not come out to explicitly address the surgery rumors. Her famous husband, actor Philip Sternberg who stars as her husband in the show, has also never publicly commented on the surgery rumors.

The supposed backlash that Catherine Reitman is getting for having received botched surgery on her lips is mainly from trolls on social media. It all started after her appearance on Workin’ Moms when viewers of the Canadian Screen Awards-nominated show took to social media to comment about it, calling her lips a distraction to her acting.
While many others stood by her, saying nothing was wrong with her lips, the general consensus was that she must have tried to get some cosmetic work done on it, and it ended up being skewed. One internet user went as far as uploading ‘before and after’ pictures, but the person in the ‘before’ picture is another woman altogether.
