Tommy Lee’s mother, Vassiliki “Voula” Papadimitriou, was born in Katouna, Greece, on August 8, 1939. Her parents were Eleftherio Papademetrio and a mother whose identity is unknown to the media. Nothing much is known about Lee’s mother except that she pursued a career as a model in her home country of Greece.

According to reports, Vassiliki contested in a Miss Greece beauty pageant held in 1957. While she didn’t win the contest, it is unknown if she was a runner-up in the competition. She got hitched to Lee’s father, David Oliver Bass, who was serving in the US Army at the time. When and how they met is not available in the media space.

However, after their marriage, they welcomed their first child, Tommy Lee, in 1962. As a result, she joined an all-female band called Hardly Dangerous and the punk group Butt Trumpet. While she continued to hone her drumming skills, Athena later signed up and worked with the Los Angeles punk rock/ pop-punk group Krunk. Since the inception of her career, she has won several awards, including the Best Female Drummer at the Rock City Awards Show.
