American Businesses: Online and Offline
6/12/2011— "Marketing on the Web is usually quick, cheap and you can reach a lot of people, but you don't always connect with every potential customer. That's why the founders of an online company take their message offline. They believe in the importance of meeting their clients face to face. MSNBC followed SkinnyScoop at three events to discover how they connect with and mobilize women in 'real world' events."
What’s Love Got To Do With It? Everything!
2/28/2011— "Last night I attended the event, “Face to Face: The Women Behind the Brands,” sponsored by Gilt City. Present were founding members and key executives from brands like Minted, Eventbrite, Decorati, SkinnyScoop, Ecomom and others. Over champagne and mini cupcakes, each woman gave an interesting fact about herself before presenting her business. Interestingly, the personal story that each woman revealed was intimately tied to her company’s product. The companies were launched as an extension of personal passion."
SkinnyScoop Powers Social Curation Platform
1/9/2012— "The early days of SkinnyScoop were both exciting and scary. I left a promising career, set up camp in my home office, did product mock-ups in PowerPoint (embarrassing but true!) and hired a contract developer to build the alpha version of SkinnyScoop. As I reflect back on my decision to start a family and my choice to go the entrepreneurial route, I realize there are many similarities. Here are 5 things I learned from both experiences."
Today's Entrepreneur: Eden Godsoe

Eden Godsoe, Co-Founder of The SkinnyScoop,Talks To She Posts
2/28/2011— "SkinnyScoop was born out of my relationship with my co-founder Erin Crocker. Erin is one of those “go-to” women who is constantly doing research, polling friends and sharing information. She created all these great spreadsheets on product recommendations, feeding schedules, travel itineraries, you name it. This content was passed around over and over again, and helped thousands of women (including myself) make more informed choices. But the whole process of creating and sharing these spreadsheets was cumbersome and not much fun. We thought - what if we could build a platform that enhances this natural desire women have to share and compare. Fast forward a year and SkinnyScoop is that platform - with thousands of women using us to share their information and decisions or see how others have tackled a problem or purchase."
Eden Godsoe is Helping Women Make Millions of Dollars of Buying Decisions

Eden and her co-founder, Erin Crocker, created Skinny Scoop – a Q & A website filled with the valuable info that Women everywhere search for regularly to make daily decisions. It’s amazingly useful because it’s based on a principle that we’ve all been taught since birth: Moms know everything."
How Eden of Skinny Scoop Found Her “Aha” Moment
5/24/2010— "As a mom, I have loved getting the Skinny Scoop newsletters and reading their website. It is a super cool online survey tool for Moms to see what other moms are doing and thinking. Because let’s face it, none of us really know what we are doing and I believe in wisdom in numbers. Then I learned about one of the founders of the company (Stanford MBA graduate and Mom) and how she left her corporate job in a very prominent role and took the leap with a classmate to start their own company."

The result is an addicting site where you can learn anything from the really personal habits of members (questions can be answered anonymously) to what stroller will stand up best to a quick jaunt in Paris."

Get the Skinny Scoop
5/24/2010— "When you ask another mom, 'How old was your baby the first time you left him overnight?' you likely get a long story about how she wouldn’t have left, but there was this wedding, and her mom insisted, and yada yada. Wouldn’t it be awesome if your friend could also tell you whether or not she’s an anomaly — or if you are. For example: '50% of new moms leave their babies overnight by the end of the first year, with only 10% testing the waters in the first four months.' Now that’s information."
