Ideas for Boosting Your Immune System & Staying Healthy

I really don't like being sick (who does?). And even worse is when the kids get sick. Sometimes there's just not much you can do, and I'm told each virus makes you stronger. But I'm always looking for ideas to stay healthy.

Sleep

Sleep is the number one way to stay healthy. Now, if only there were a way to get more of it. But I'm going to make this more of a priority. Granted, mine doesn't look like this photo, with perfect makeup, eyebrows and hair. But you get the idea.

Stay Hydrated

Make sure you are drinking enough water.

Wash your Hands

Warm water, rub your hands together. No need for antibacterial soaps. Here's a great post on this plus nice signs from Three Men and A Lady.

Break Your Sugar Habit

Yeah yeah yeah, eat less sugar. Seems that eating too much of it can make it easier for you to get sick. Probably true. (But here's an article that says maybe it's not all that bad: http://nutrition.about.com/b/2009/10/05/does-sugar-really-hurt-your-immune-system.htm)

Exercise

Exercise is the next best thing. Again, how to find the time. Keep it simple, get outside, 5 minutes is better than nothing! You don't have to be training for an ironman, just start by walking.

I prefer the Raspberry flavor. I try and drink one a day, but still helpful at the first sign of a cold.
